D.D. Blanchard is one of the largest magnolia cultivars on the market. It frequently grows more than 50 feet tall, with an impressive spread of up to 35 feet. And it has the same fragrant, white blossoms and large, glossy leaves that magnolias are known for.
Brackens Brown Magnolia is very easy to grow in most any moist but well-drained soil or average or better fertility and full sun or part shade. At least 4 hours of direct sunlight or all-day filtered sun is suggested.

Landscape Characteristics
D.D. Blanchard Magnolia is an evergreen tree with a distinctive and refined pyramidal form. Its relatively coarse texture can be used to stand it apart from other landscape plants with finer foliage.This is a relatively low maintenance tree, and should only be pruned after flowering to avoid removing any of the current season’s flowers. Deer don’t particularly care for this plant and will usually leave it alone in favor of tastier treats. It has no significant negative characteristics.D.D. Ornamental Characteristics
The flowers are white, fragrant and showy, lasting spring through summer. Foliage is glossy dark green with bronze undersides with a hint of orange, no change in fall. The fruit is red and brown, dry, elongated, attractive, edible by birds, and attracts animals.
